Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Traverse City, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Michigan run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Traverse City is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Traverse City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Front of the house bar area was crowded and noisy but we were in back which was more serene. Thereβs an indoor terrace area which appears to overlook the lake and looks like it would be the choice spot. Our server was very good. Cocktails were terrific. We had the boneless βwingsβ app, the Korean hot sauce and Stilton cream dipping sauce was one of those weird but good combos. Then four sushi rolls instead of the entree side of the menu. Rolls are jumbo sized. Particularly liked the Dancing Turtle. A couple which had cooked ingredients I didnβt care for as much. Small dense chocolate dessert was very good too. You do pay up for the goodness though. The entrees are across the board pretty much 25% more than we would be used to paying at Asian fusion spots near our non resort area home.

Top notch! There are comparatively less vegetarian options, but theyβre so good! Especially the Sweet potato Tempura and the Indian curry were amazing! Red Dragon Cocktail was the best!

From the outside this place doesn't look like much. Once inside it becomes an upscale delight. I wouldn't say it distinctly asianbin any way. It just feels pricey, but comfortable. Of course there's mood lighting. I ordered their Crab Rangoon Stick ($19). Instead of their normal shape they come out in stick form. It works and they were excellent. However you only get 4, so they are almost $5 per rangoon stick, but their was real crab in them. For Dinner I ordered their Vietnamese Shaking Beef ($41). This is Wok-seared beef tenderloin, baby bok choy, red onion, basil, and mint, on a Shanghai noodle pillow. This was very good. The beef was outstanding and the noodle bed was fun. My only issue was I didn't love the sauce. The service was excellent. Very efficient and super friendly. Overall I give them 4 stars. The price to what you get is definitely a negative. I know that normal for hoity toity places. The beef was definitely better than a regular place. Would I return? Yes, as a special event type place. Though I'd probably get something else.

Amazing experience at Red Ginger. My wife and I went for our anniversary. They were kind enough to give a card that was signed by the whole staff. The food was phenomenal. Everything we had was amazing. Spring Rolls, Dragon Wings, Thai Curry, Lobster Fried Rice. Really great flavors that you don't experience in restaurants now. The service was excellent! Our waiter checked on us multiple times and made sure we were without want.

The restaurant was very nice. Good color scheme and atmosphere. The service was very good. A mistake was made with the miso soup and they were very nice and replaced it for everyone. The grilled calamari was very tasty and well cooked. The 3 sushi rolls we tried were very good. We tried the Dancing turtle, seared salmon, and yuzu roll. The favorite was the salmon. The miso was good also.
